Corina de la Rosa & Julio Balmaceda

Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa are highly respected teachers of the "milongueros" (social tango dancers) in Buenos Aires. They have specialized in "Tango Waltz" and "Tango Salón" and show great elegance in their dancing movements along with a sustained respect for the musical background.

Julio is the son of the legendary Miguel Balmaceda, who taught many well known dancers, and received his first tango lessons from him. After his father died in 1991, Julio took over the classes at the most prestigious tango schools in Bs. As.: "Canning", "Grisel", "El Parakultural", "Almagro", and "La galeria del tango". Nowadays Julio has the honor of being considered one of the youngest "milongueros" in Bs As.

Corina started dancing at the age of 6. She graduated from the National Institute of Dance in Argentina before making her first experience in teaching classical dance. At the age of 23, she devoted herself to improve her tango skills and learn the secrets of its culture by dancing with the best old "milongueros".

Since 1996 they have been performing together all over the world:

1996: They conduct classes in prestigious dance halls such as "Gricel", "Club Almagro" and "La Galería del Tango Argentino"
1997:
Argentina: They conduct group classes at "La Galería del Tango Argentino" and "Club Almagro"
They perform at the "Palais de Glace" in the event of a Tango exhibition.
Abroad: Workshops and Classes: in Graz (Austria), Amsterdam and Groningen (Holland), London (UK) and Hamburg (Germany).
Shows and Festivals: They participate in a tour of 13 Italian cities being the first couple of the "Nueva Compañía Tangueros" show with the "Color Tango" Orchestra.
1998:
Argentina: They conduct group classes in "La Galería del Tango Argentino" and "Club Almagro" and special waltz seminars.
Abroad: Workshops and classes: Río de Janeiro (Brazil), Basel and Lausanne (Switzerland), Graz (Austria), Torino (Italy), "Sandra Cameron Dance Center" of New York (USA).
Shows and Festivals: "FOREVER TANGO" (Broadway, NY, USA) from March to August, "II Encuentro de Tango con Los Grandes" Spain, "Tango Ball Festival" (Switzerland).

August - September: They conduct TANGO Al SUR classes in Buenos Aires exclusively for foreign students
They will resume their open classes at "La Galeria del Tango Argentino" and "Club Almagro"
